This weeks goals!

This post was supposed to be about this weekend’s goals.   However I have goals that need to be completed THIS WEEK!

Here they are:

  • Update Emily’s Planner
  • Finish printing and updating my blog planner
  • Write a few blog posts
  • Catch up on some de-clutter plans.  I went all gung ho and joined in 3 organizing challenges.  The first one is at Family, Faith and Fridays and is pretty easy and you have one week to complete the task.  The second one is Peter Walsh’s 31 Days to Getting Organized. This one just lasts through the month of January and is 10 minutes a day.  I don’t totally have to do all of these, since I don’t have some of the clutter he talks about, like baby toys or magazine clutter, but hypothetically I was going to alter it to something I do need to do.  But since I am behind, I am just going to skip the days I don’t need to do in order to just get caught up. The 3rd one is a big one and I have been the best at keeping up at this one. It is from 365 day organizing challenge. You just print off a calendar each month and do the task for the day. Each task is about 10 minutes. I am a little behind on this one as well. Doing all these at once quickly got overwhelming.  My goal is to get to where I feel caught up on these tasks.
  • Make an accountability planner for myself.  I want this to be similar to Katey and Tyler’s planners which are these ones.
  • I need to finish planning my archery lessons.
  • Walk 10,000 steps a day according to my Fitbit ' target=_blank>Fit Bit.

I do feel like all these goals are obtainable this week!

My Favorite Books

I love to read.  I love to read more than I have time for.  My genre of choice is Non Fiction. I love Auto Biographies and I love books based on true stories.  I am in a book club with a group of ladies and we mostly read Young Adult.  Those are pretty good books too.

My all time favorite book is a self help mommy book.  I have written about it before.  It was seriously life changing.

A book I am currently reading is ' target=_blank>The Miracle Morning.  I am hoping to finish that book this week.  So far it seems pretty promising.

My Least Favorite Words

My least favorite word is SURE.

I have no idea why.   I think it’s partially because I feel like you are just going with the flow and not speaking your opinion.

Whenever my husband answers me sure, I always ask him if he is just complying to make me happy.

It is a funny thing and I just can’t stand that word.

The definitions from Dictionary.com

sure

[shoo r, shur]

Spell Syllables

adjective, surer, surest.

1. free from doubt as to the reliability, character, action, etc., of something:

to be sure of one's data.

2. confident, as of something expected:

sure of success.

3. convinced, fully persuaded, or positive:

to be sure of a person's guilt.

4. assured or certain beyond question:

a sure victory.

5. worthy of confidence; reliable; stable:

a sure messenger.

6. unfailing; never disappointing expectations:

a sure cure.

7. unerring; never missing, slipping, etc.:

a sure aim.

After reading these definitions I feel like the word could possibly grow on me.  In my mind the word means more of a negative, like “Sure, I will clean the bathrooms for you, even though I don’t want to.”

Anyway, that’s a little quirk about me.

Today’s Playlist {Board Game Edition}

I’m sure the general theme was meant to mean music, but in our family we play a ton of games.  We love it.

Here is our favorite playlist.

Along with these, we also enjoy card games.  Our favorite family card games are:

  • Phase 10
  • Oh Heck  (a game my husbands family made up using Rook cards)

What is on your family’s playlist?

Things I am good at.

alyson halloween

Have you ever asked yourself “What am I good at?”

That’s easy enough, right?

The hard part is answering that question.

What am I good at?

I am good at being fun.

I am good at being spontaneous.

I am really good at procrastinating.

I am good at sewing.

I am good at crafts.

I am good at being thoughtful.

I am good at keeping secrets.

I am good at whatever I want to be good at.

So tell me, what are you good at?

A few things about myself

Let’s get to know each other a little here…

At least get to know me.

Christmas pic 2014

My name is Alyson.

I was named after a TV reporter that my dad liked her name.

I love being a mom and a wife.

I love to have fun.

I am known for my silliness and sarcastic sense of humor.

I enjoy being around people.

I love to learn.

Well, that’s enough about me.  Share something about yourself with me! I’d love to get to know you more.
