Muffin Tin Monday – Vegetarian Style

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

I just feel like clarifying:

We are not vegetarians, but that doesn’t mean we need to eat meat at every meal, or even every day.

Left to right, top to bottom:
Orange Juice, Fork, Avocado slices, goldfish crackers, grits (butter flavored), peanut butter celery, peaches with whip cream, cream cheese celery.

S3010431This was also Tyler’s very first time joining us in a Muffin Tin Meal.   These were all foods he had before, just the way it was served to it was new for him.  He seemed to really enjoy it being the same as the other kids.  He was smiling for this picture, I just must have not snapped it quick enough.

This week there is no theme over at Muffin Tin Mom, so be sure to go check out all the cool ideas other Muffin Tin Munchers came up with!

Muffin Tin Monday YELLOW!!

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

Yippee for Yellow!
We loved loved loved Yellow!

We had Pears (everybody's favorite)
Pineapple, wheat crackers, Mac and Cheese and fresh squeezed lemonade (also everybody's favorite).

I know I know not the most creative one, and I don't have muffin tins (I really need to get some), but they loved it and that's what mattered.

Now go have your own Muffin Tin Meal and then link up here. It's so much fun and the theme is just a suggestion.

Muffin Tin Monday Red

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth
Love is in the air at our house. These are all foods I love anyways.
We had:
Heart Shaped Grilled Cheese

Tomato Soup
Mini Pepperoni
Colored Goldfish (I was to lazy to pick out just the red ones)
Red Jello Sweethearts (I think these taste just like homemade fruit snacks, and they are so easy)
Conversation hearts
Strawberry milk with marshmallow hearts (gourmet mom on the go)

We watched a video on how the conversation hearts were made and learned all about the company. The New England Confectionery Company aka NECCO. This was a really fun day.

Now go and see what the rest came up with HERE.

Muffin Tin Monday Dessert Style!

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

Muffin Tin Monday again! Yes!

We had a special dessert meal this week. The kids loved it. It was such a surprise as we don't do dessert very often.

I have 3 kids. Each got one grahmn cracker and one marshmallow section with toothpicks. The rest of the sections they had to share, and take turns using. In the dipping sections, we have frosting, melted chocolate, and a variety of sprinkles.

Here is a picture of my favorite combination.

We had such fun eating this dessert together and trying new combinations.

Muffin Tin Monday ABC/123

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

Oh, how my children look forward to this. They are older than most I see on MTM, so I try to make theirs a little more complicated. I do have a preschooler so I keep hers simple. This week the theme was 123/ABC. We have been working on sounds so I decided to have

A - Apple slices
B - Banana slices
C - Cheese slices

1 - 1 cup of chocolate milk (they had to measure it out using 1/2 cup measuring cup)
2 - boiled eggs (they had to think of how to make their 1 egg into 2)
3 mini sandwiches with 3 ingredients (they had to make 1 sandwich with 3 ingredients, then cut it into 1/3)

This Muffin Tin Meal gave us the opportunity to talk about a lot of sounds and fractions and measuring.

It was a fun challenge for my kids too!

Egyptian Muffin Tin Meal

There was no theme this week for Muffin Tin Monday, so here is what we did, (we didn't serve it in a muffin tin, because I don't have very many yet, we are working on that)

We have been learning about ancient Egypt. So what better way to make it stick, then with food. So we had a royal Assyrian meal. We made some Egyptian bread (Sebatu Rolls) , we had grapes, apples, figs, dates, and grape juice, (they drank barley beer and wine, but that's not for us). The girls made royal crowns, and T made an Egyptian bracelet and we made toga robes (out of our bed sheets). For a snack the day before we had Overnight Fig Cakes.

Here is a picture of us making our crowns.

Here we are enjoying our lunch on the floor. (Ancient Egyptians didn't have tables and chairs, or silverware.)

We really love History Odyssey
One of our favorite books with many fun learning activities are from this book: Ancient Egyptians And Their Neighbors.

Looks like I'm gonna need to go muffin tin shopping

Presenting (dun, dun, dun)
Our very first Muffin Tin Meal!

The kids had heard me talking about this for 2 weeks now. They were really excited, so excited in fact I was afraid it wasn't going to live up to their super high expectations. It did! Yeah! They even had seconds. We had Carrots and Ranch, Ham and Cheese loaded mashed potatoes, peanut butter quesadilla triangles, cheese stick, tropical fruit, and orange soda. After looking it over it looks like my theme is an orange one. This was so much fun, and they are really looking forward to it again. Check out what more there is with the Muffin Tin Mom.

Charlotte's Web

This past little while we have been reading Charlotte's Web By E.B. White. We finished it this past weekend. We had planned a party for when we had finished. We made paper mache piggy banks. We learned some facts about spiders. We took a Charlotte's Web quiz. But the best part was our lunch. We had pigs in a blanket, marshmallow spiders, spiderweb dip with cracker flies. We also had egg sac puffs
and gold medal milk. (chocolate milk with yellow food coloring)
This was an amazing book and a great experience to share with my family. I loved it that the kids begged me to
read to them. We ate our lunch while watching the movie Charlotte's Web. It's fun to compare what our imaginations see as we read the book, versus what the movie portrays.
